We know that the Word of God is living and active and has the power to transform lives and communities. Right now we have an opportunity to change a continent by shaping the future leaders of Africa.
An estimated 400 million in Africa are under the age of 16. Most live amidst poverty and rampant HIV-AIDS. As many as half of them do not have access to the Word of God because they do not read ? but they do play soccer! Capitalizing on the momentum of the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa the Ubabalo eAfrica project aims to change forever the lives of 1.5 million future leaders in 50 nations of Africa, empowering them with the Scriptures, life skills, and leadership development through soccer and Biblical whole life coaching.
Life coaches, each specially trained and working with a soccer team of 20 youth, will be equipped with solar powered audio players containing the Scriptures, life skills, and leadership development materials. The soccer-life coaches and materials will address spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, environmental, and physical areas of life. The ultimate goal is to empower every soccer player with Biblically based life skills and give them a love for the Word of God. Ubabalo employs a ripple effect strategy that begins with equipping 3000 life coaches in 2010, expanding that to 75,000 coaches over a few years, culminating in training 1.5 million dynamic young leaders who will in turn impact their families, communities, and nations.
$25 will equip one soccer life-coach to reach a captive audience of 20 energetic young Africans with the life transforming truths of the Word of God.
