"Susan's father makes it a point to talk to Steven when he passes the intersection now, and Steven recently said, "Can you get me more Audibibles™? I never have a chance to listen to it anymore because all the "old people" always take it." |

Steven is a young black man with a family. He has no job and resorts to begging on a street corner of Johannesburg, South Africa. Most of us in urban areas have met people like this.
Susan was a sensitive young lady who worked near "Stevens street corner," for the engineering company that helped develop the Davar Audibible™, and rather than turning her head, she would always "reach out" with a smile and sandwiches that contained a Bible verse on the wrapper. She even gave his family baby clothes and diapers from time to time, and promised Steven a new pair of running shoes and an Audibible™. Many people thought she was a bit "over the top" with her huge "mercy heart."
Susan passed away on Good Friday, April 22, 2011, before she could deliver her promised shoes and Audibible™. A few weeks later her father stopped at the intersection to give Steven the terrible news and finalize his daughters wishes. Steven said, "Does this mean I will never see her again? She always treated me different. I always tried to read her Bible verses with my family". Then he cried as Susans father gave him the Audibible™ in his native language, Zulu.
Steven became so happy, and danced with excitement when he heard the Bible in his own language.
Weeks later, another woman who drove through this same intersection daily was so touched by what she saw and heard that she immediately called the Davar South Africa office to report it. She said, "the man on the street corner was different today, he approached me and said a man had given him this gift, an Audibible™ in Zulu," and it made him so happy." She didnt know who gave it to him.
We had been aware of Susans story, and the mystery was solved.
How many more people will one day testify about how grateful they were for someone giving them the Living and Spoken Word of God in their own language? Will you help give the Audibible™ to those who cannot read? (press here)
