Q: How does the Audibible™ know which audio file to play first?

A: The Audibible™ plays content in a sequential order, so the user will have to sort his/her content sequentially. Example: 01_Genesis1, 02_Exodus, 03_Leviticus.. This is explained in detail in the Audibible™ Software User Manual.

A: Yes, the template is available on the Audibible™ Software CD.

Q: Why does Davar Partners use the Ogg Vorbis audio format?

A: The use of Ogg Vorbis avoids royalty cost such as those incurred with use of MP3. Ogg Vorbis is a much more secure format with a high fidelity rate and unencumbered by patents.

Q: Where are the audio files stored?

A: The audio files are stored on a Micro SD card that is inserted on the side of the Audibible™.

Q: What hardware do I need to load my own audio content onto the Audibible™?

A:

  1. A PC with any Microsoft Windows™ operating system where Oracle Java™ JRE 1.5 or higher is installed. The Oracle Java JRE is an open source program and is therefore freely available from the Oracle Java website. (The latest version is included in the Audibible Software CD).
  2. A Micro SD card reader or a SD card reader with a Micro SD card adaptor to load the final audio content on the micro SD card. The latest PC’s come with a Micro SD card reader on board. If your computer does not include it external ones are readily available for a few dollars. For further details, please see the Audibible™ Software manual at the following link: http://davarpartners.com/user-manual.html

Q: Can the audio content on the Micro SD card be listened to or altered using a MP3 player or other media device?

A: No, the audio files are encrypted and can only be used with the Audibible™.

Q: Can I return to the specific chapter or track that I was listening to when I shut down or paused the Audibible™?

A: The Audibible™ has a built in book marking function which remembers the position when the unit is switched off and continues at that specific chapter/track when turned on again. The audio level is also restored in the same manner.

Q: My Audibible™ does not want to switch off and the RED and GREEN LED stays lit. Is the unit faulty? How can I switch it off?

A: If a Micro SD card which does not contain a valid Base Content File is inserted into the Audibible™, the GREEN and RED LED will stay lit ad the user will not be able to use any buttons. The only way to switch off the Audibible™ when it is in this state is to remove the Micro SD card and then to press the power button for at least two seconds.

The Audibible™ is not able to play Additional Content without a valid and corresponding Base Content File. Please see the Audibible™ Software User Guide for more information: http://davarpartners.com/user-manual.html
